Diary of a Drifter-House 4-Chapter 2-Chemistry

Knowing that I had a job to do along with my own life to lead I decided to get to work right away.  I didn't want to live on an empty lot forever so I had to start thinking back to my Mom and what she used to do.  She always talked about going on her rounds to collect some gems, metals, plants and frogs so I knew I had to do the same.

I checked all the wild plants that were growing but nothing was ready to be harvested.  Sadly that turned into a waste of time so I decided I was better off trying to catch some fish.

My Mom was an ace angler and I did learn some tricks from her.  The only difference is while she just wanted to catch all different types of fish, I was only interested in selling anything I caught to the fish market.  I just wanted a comfortable bed to sleep in at night.

I hate to say this but fishing is a bit boring.  Just standing here with this fishing pole in the water waiting for anything to bit a hook without any bait is not that exciting.  My mind started to wander and I had a couple of ideas.   Wouldn't it be great to invention that could possibly help you focus when you viewed it.  That would be awesome!  While I wrote that idea down in my notebook I heard my stomach start to growl.  That gave me the idea of a potion that would fill your belly even when you didn't have time for a meal.  I wrote that one down too.  If I'm going to have to be a scientist I might as well try and work on this.

Darkness settled in and I knew it was getting way too late.  My stomach was already reminding me that I needed food and I didn't even collect enough money to buy a toilet today.  Luckily there was a picnic area close to my house and I was able to grill up some fruit.  Hopefully tomorrow I would have enough money tomorrow to start working on my house or furnishings.

Since I didn't have enough money for a bed I had no choice but to sleep on this park bench.  This is when I realized how much I missed my bed back home.  My back was aching me, my head was pounding and I felt all out of sorts instead of rested.  However the worst had not hit me yet.

I had to go and there weren't any bathroom facilities to use anywhere nearby.

I was still trying to hold it in even as I walked into the lab for my first day of work.

Sadly I had an accident on my way to the bathroom.  This is not exactly the first impression I wanted to make with my new co workers.

Thankfully they also had a shower there so I could get cleaned up.  This certainly saved me from an embarrassing situation that day.

The rest of the day was rather productive.  I made a new invention.

I'm not sure what to exactly call it but I know I felt more focused on my work every time I looked at it.

I also started experimenting with some serums.

Oh boy I wonder what this will do.  I think I'm going to need a guinea pig to test this out on.  I know just who to call.

"Uncle Dashawn remember when you promised to always help me out with my future career.  I could use that help right about now."

He tested the potion I made and to my surprise he lived to tell the tale.  I looked for some kind of reaction but didn't see anything at all.  I'll try to work on that again tomorrow.

Instead I decided to go back to the inventing.  I had an idea for a type of gun that could freeze sims and possibly have them do my bidding.  The idea worked out perfectly but it was almost time to go home so I wouldn't have anyone to test it on.  I guess I can find some victims volunteers tomorrow.

My superiors were so impressed with my inventions today that I earned my first promotion on my first day.  Maybe I was meant for science but I still wanted to find my soulmate.

My co workers wanted to take me out to celebrate and sadly I had to say no due to the fact I didn't have the necessary funds.

Even when my dearly departed Mother called I had to refuse.

A few days later I earned another promotion and this time I accepted the invite to go out to celebrate.

When I got there there were knights all over the place for some reason which was beyond me.  My mind was otherwise occupied.

Because in front of me was a woman I was sure I had plenty of chemistry with.

Author's Note:  Harry never called Dashawn to the lab I just used that for story reasons.  I seriously have no idea why Dashawn showed up at the lab.

I found this and I wasn't sure if it was safe for Harry to eat or not.

When I left my home to start my new life I didn't realize the challenges I would be facing.  Sure I knew all about my family legacy would require me to do a certain job and that life would not be easy in the beginning.  What I didn't know is that when I opened that envelope which would basically tell me what my life's purpose would be that I might not be happy.

When I thought about my life I always dreamed of finding the lady of my dreams who would be my perfect soulmate.

but when I read the letter I realized Grandma Darlene had another plan in mind for me.

I always pictured myself as one of the world's greatest lovers not one of the world's greatest scientists.

Well I promised my Mom before she died that I would carry on the family legacy and to be honest I really don't want to find out about living in that place called the bin.  I picked up my phone and got myself a job at the Science Lab and who knows maybe I can be both a lover and a scientist.
