Diary of a Drifter-House 4-Chapter 5-Daddy's Little Girl

Luckily for us Skyla's toddler days came to an end.

She was adorable and as smart as a whip.  Most of her toddler skills she learned on her own and did a pretty damn good job I must say.  You know she does get that from me.

However she was a rambunctious wild thing too.  She was indeed a handful.

Who grew into a cute little kid.

She did turn out to be a whiz kid I knew she inherited her intelligence from me but she is also a slob.  Its a good thing I have a sim ray with the clean option on mind control.  I'll probably have to use it often.

Tamika and I had already changed her room.  Skyla wasn't a baby anymore and her room needed to grow up along with her.  She absolutely loved the art table and even more to my delight she loved......

the chemistry set I put in my laboratory for her.  We spent hours and hours in there together.

She was a natural at it.  Just like her old man.

No matter how busy I was with my work I always made time to spend with Skyla.

"Who is that Daddy?"

"Skyla, I think it's time for you and I to go in now dear"

Tamika and I took care of our garden every day and continued to build and furnish our little home. We had all the basic essential so now our money went towards decorating the house.  Whenever we spent time together I knew that I truly met my soulmate.

Mom called and invited us to the love festival and I gladly accepted the invitation.

I made sure to throw some petals at my beautiful Tamika and I learned something that day.  I didn't need to graft for dragon fruit, all I needed was an invite to the romance festival.  I'll make sure that Skyla knows that and passes the information onto future generations.

Skyla made her way over to the karaoke machine and spent most of the night there.  Mainly it was because she enjoyed but she had another reason.....

she said that we were being so lovey dovey that it was embarrassing.

I almost missed it but I was working so hard I didn't realize it was my birthday. Tamika and Skyla couldn't wait up any longer and I don't blame them as I did arrive home later than usual.  However there was the cake on the table waiting for me.

I blew out the candles.

and I became old really fast.  One would think its time to retire but not me, I still had things to accomplish at work not to mention finishing Grandma Darlene's legacy.

Harry's Goals for House 4:

1. Create a 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom home worth at least $50k Simoleons (after Depreciation)
2. Achieve level 10 of the Rocket Science skill
3. Achieve level 10 of the Scientist career
4. Travel to Sixam
5. Acquire at least three unique items exclusive to the Get To Work expansion
6. Befriend and Move In an alien
7. Produce and raise an Heir to the Young Adult lifestage

Diary of a Drifter-House 3b-Chapter 7-Dashawn with the Finale

My sister was quite busy in her last few days and couldn't finish off her journal.  I decided that it was my job to finish up for her since she always looked out for all of us especially me.  She took me in as a teen when she barely had enough to take care of herself so that I wouldn't be alone.  My sister was an angel to me and I'm really going to miss her.

When she got the message from the doctors that she wouldn't have much longer to live she took his advice and started to get everything in order. We always knew that Harry would be moving out to fulfill his part of Grandma Darlene's legacy so all the paperwork the lot of land provided to him in the trust was transferred to him.  The house that we were living in was transferred to my name as we received some bad news about Kayden also.

Not that I would miss Kayden any as he was never good enough for my sister. None of those clowns were good enough for my sister and I made sure that each and everyone of them knew it.

The first thing Everly did was hire Jake Walker.  She was always the one to take care of the house and she wanted to make sure that all of us were taken care of and she insisted that we needed a butler.

She also rented a room to my old girlfriend Rachel Patel.  I think she was afraid of me having to live alone so she wanted to play matchmaker. Rachel also brought her young son Zander to live with us.  It seems she also had a thing with Luciano and they had a child together.  For a little while we had a full house here.

Rachel and I had our birthdays on the same day.  Rachel aged up as she got home from work eventhough we had a cake for her.

I was actually able to blow out the candles on my cake.

Well since I don't work where else would I be.

We spent the rest of our days just enjoying the wonderful house that my sister worked hard to build for us.  We even had a pool in the backyard.

And my sister bought us a horseshoe court just like the one our mother gave us when we were kids.

The day for Harry's birthday arrived and Everly decided to bake him a cake but before she could finish something awful happened.

Everly's time had come.

Harry pleaded with Grim for his mother's life and.....

Grim didn't want to ruin the birthday party so he granted Harry's request.

Being dead didn't stop my sister one bit.  She went back to making a birthday cake for Harry as nothing was going to ruin the celebration.

Everly finished that cake and placed the candles on them so that her son could make a wish and blow them out.  Later on Harry did tell me that his wish was already granted earlier, he just wanted to celebrate his birthday and spend more time with his Mom.

Knowing that this was Harry's last day in the house Everly and Harry spent most of the night together and even did their morning reading together.  The problem happened when Everly got up to make them some breakfast.

Everly was going to make some Scrambled Eggs and Toast for everyone to have a special farewell breakfast for Harry but she never got the chance.

Grim came back for her that morning and this time....

there was nothing any of us could say or do to change his mind.

My sister was gone and nothing was ever going to be the same again.

And while we grieved and mourned our loss, Grim decided to play a game of horseshoes.

Harry was already set to move out which is exactly what he knew his mother wanted to do.  He said goodbye to his father first.

And than he came to say goodbye to me.  He promised he would do whatever he needed to do to keep the family out of the bin and hopefully he wouldn't need 9 lives to do it.

There he goes my nephew off to start his own life and I know he will do his mother proud.  I'm going to miss that boy.

Author's Note-This is the end of house #3.  I'm going to make a special post with the house and Lot info right after this but I wanted to show everyone what I found in Kayden's inventory.  Kayden was constantly at that work bench and I never checked his inventory until the end.  This is how much stuff he made and I didn't even realize it.

Diary of a Drifter-House 3b-Chapter 6-It's about damn time!

I was a little bit concerned about Kayden after this "Alien story" he was telling us and I was watching him for the next few days.  However nothing strange happened to him at all.   He still tells this far fetched story though which I wish he would stop especially with Harry.

If any good has come out of that bizarre story it is that Harry has developed such an interest in science that he has started playing with his chemistry set. Hopefully he doesn't set the house on fire like Dashawn did as a child.  I do have a sprinkler system installed so we should be fine.

Next we have a series of birthdays coming up.  First up is my baby brother is becoming an adult.  Well I use that term loosely as he still fights with Kayden a bit.  The fighting isn't as bad as with Israel but bad enough.

The fighting would probably be worse if it wasn't for Kayden's obsession with the woodworking bench.  I bought that for me so I could increase my mechanical skills but Kayden seems to love it.  Since I became an expert in do it yourself repairs by fixing everything Mother breaks when she visits us at night, I decided to let Kayden keep the woodworking bench for himself.  I just have to get that thing out of my kitchen.

The next birthday was mine.  It really was a surprise as my husband and brother decided to call a truce for that day just to get me this birthday cake and sing happy birthday to me.

I blew out my candle and wished that the house could be this peaceful all the time.

Next I did receive some new clothes from Harry and a gift certificate to the beauty salon from Dashawn.

I do have to admit that I love the hair style and my boy certainly does know my taste in clothes.

Kayden gave me the gift I love most.  I have to say he is really getting to be very talented woodworker as he made me this vanity which fits in perfectly with the decor I used for our bedroom.

I seriously can spend hours pampering myself at this mirror and this bedroom is turning out just as I wanted it to.  None of the madness that goes on in this crazy house seems to bother me when I'm in my bedroom.  I guess I was fortunate enough to get my birthday wish.

The next birthday was Kayden's.

He blew out his candles but all of his gifts were the same.  We all knew all he wanted to do is spend time making new furnitures and sculptures out of wood so all of us including Dashawn purchased him materials to use at his woodworking bench.

I read about this forgotten grotto that you could find while exploring at the park. American Angler magazine claims that is where a sim could catch the exclusive Bat fish which is the last I need for my collection.  I really need to finish this before I die or its back to the bin for all of us so I decided to give it a try.

And what do you know I did it.  I caught 20 different types of fish!

I did it I finished my part in keeping the family out of the family bin.  Now it is up to my son to follow in my footsteps.

Now I don't have to fish anymore unless I want to as I do find it to be a calming and relaxing activity.  However I want to spend more time with my son.  After I seen him playing chess in the park, I bought a chess table for the house and he loves to practice all the time.  I join him there now and I'm slowly telling him about his Great Grandma Darlene and how she left us a legacy to fulfill.  We don't know what is in store for Harry as his envelope will be sealed until the day he becomes of age and takes control of the family legacy but I'm just preparing him for the adventure that is opening up for him.

Before I knew it Harry's birthday was here,

and my little boy grew up into a handsome young man.

Author's Note:  The Vanity cannot be made with the woodworking bench I just added that part for story purposes.

Everly's Goals:

1. Create a 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom home worth at least $40k Simoleons (after Depreciation) 
2. Complete the Angling Ace Aspiration on the Main Sim 
3. Achieve level 10 of the Gardening skill on the Main Sim 
4. Achieve level 10 of the Fishing skill on the Main Sim 
5. Upon reaching level 10 in both Gardening and Fishing you may now Build or Place a Park on the Desert Bloom Park Lot in Oasis Springs. 
6. Acquire the Cowplant and collect 5 unique Essence potions by interacting with the Cowplant 
7. Produce and raise an Heir to the Young Adult lifestage

Basically I do have a 2 bedroom/1 bath home worth over 40 K but I haven't finished putting the finishing touches on it which is mostly decorations so I'm not crossing it off the list.  

We just have to wait for Harry to age up to finish the last requirement.
