Diary of a Drifter House #1 Chapter 4-Almost finished

Here I am as I am everyday chipping away at my purpose in life.  I do have to say that the house is coming along very nicely. Slowly but surely we are getting there.  Today is Travis birthday and I wanted to do something special for him so I'm hoping I get enough money from these special rocks. At first I was a little iffy about him but in the end he turned out to be a decent father

If I'm busy he makes sure to have breakfast with Erica.  Not really much for him to do besides open the fridge and pull out some left overs.  I do all the cooking in the house.  I just wish he would learn to put his books away so that our daughter might actually sit at the table.

We did have a little problem with the stove when he got the brilliant idea in his head to cook.  This is why I do all the cooking.  Without even a second thought he pulled a fire extinguisher (I won't even ask where he got it from) and put out the fire.

He still dances all the time....

and he has taught Erica to dance all the time....

which she does instead of her homework.

I think he is a keeper.  Happy Birthday Travis!

I was able to get him a new TV for his birthday but due to all my hard work with my garden and my rounds.....

I was also able to get myself a brand new living room.  We are really coming up there in the world now.

Oh Wow will wonders never cease!  My little girl finally decided to do her homework and she did come home with a B on her report card the next day.

She even helps around the house even when no one asks her to.  I think she is going to grow up to be a fine young lady.

It's our Birthday time!  Erica and I have the same birthday well this time around we do. For some strange reason it wasn't my birthday when she was born and on her next birthday it won't be mine.  Less birthday is something I'm thankful for but its nice that Erica and I shared the same birthday.

Oh No Erica that will not do!  Sorry young lady but we are bringing you over to the mirror so you can take a good look at yourself.  You need to lose that baseball cap and those Elton John glasses. Really I thought my fashion sense would rub off on her but I guess she gets this from her father.

Ok I buy a TV for her father for his birthday but she just gets a trip to the hair dresser and some new clothes.  Sounds fair to me since no one thought about getting me a gift in fact you know what happened....

I had made two cakes for the occasion and Travis came over took a piece out of the first one and went straight to bed.  The nerve on him ruining one of the cakes and than to go hide under the covers.  I gave Erica the second cake and I just recycled it by putting more candles on for me.  Guess I'll just blow out the candles by myself as everyone seems to have gone away.

Happy Birthday to me!

I think I'll celebrate by fixing the sink for the umpteenth time.

The next day Travis did try and make it up to me by doing some cleaning while I was out tending the garden and making my rounds for the day.

Well I figure for my birthday I should treat myself to some renovations on the house and I'm quite pleased with the results.

Here is the front.  We still need to work on the upstairs and the landscaping is limited to the one lemon tree that I planted and a couple of window boxes.

This is the back and not much has been done here yet.

The only thing out here is my garden which is where I spend most of my day.

Let us move onto the inside and here is the entrance hall aka Travis' dance studio.

I've come along way from grilling and spoiling hot dogs.  This is my new kitchen.  The only thing I need now is my coffee pot as I'm a beast if I don't have my caffeine fix in the morning.

I changed the wall between the kitchen and living room to a half wall to give it a more open look.  This is a small house and the full walls were making it seem a bit cramped.

This is the downstairs bathroom its a bit small but I am planning on the upstairs one to be a bit bigger than this one.

That is it for the house tour as I still have the upstairs to do which I hope to get to soon.   Right now Travis and I have some xplaining to do with Erica.  This is going to be awkward.

Authors Note: I have four days until Erica ages into a Young Adult and here is the lot info:

Upstairs does has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath but its not shown as I have not decorated it yet.  The value is there but I don't feel its finished until I fully finish the house.  I'm pretty sure that I will be on house #2 by next week.

As I already mentioned I have been randomizing Erica's traits.  She had this before I read the rules for house #2

Now I see she needs the Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration which by luck she already rolled.  I am going to need a better way to randomize these traits as I don't think this is the best method but it worked out pretty damn good for Erica.

Diary of a Drifter House #1 Chapter 3 Half Way Point

I wish they would have told me how difficult life out of the bin would be. Here I am fixing the radio as this is the only source of fun we have in the house and after this I have the pleasure of ......

unclogging the toilet.  I get to have all this fun while my back is aching and I'm as big as a house.

I finally get everything fixed and lie down for a much needed nap when.....

Travis decides that this would be the best time to turn the radio on and start dancing.  I must have been really tuckered out because I slept right through it.

I thought it might be a good idea to get an early start to my rounds so this way we could get so more walls.  Turned out that was a mistake as this is what happened.

Son of a bitch! I just fixed it and the freaking thing is broken again.

Of course Travis is oblivious to it all as all he wants to do is dance.

Uh-Oh I feel funny.

Now after all this time Travis realizes that something is up.  He jitterbuged through out my entire pregnancy and now he freaks out when we get to the hospital.

Of course he didn't stay long.  In fact he never even entered the hospital at all. He just up and left for work.  Couldn't he have taken a freaking day off! After this if he wants another kid he better plan on getting probed by the aliens!

The pregnancy book said while I was in labor I should only have Ice Chips. Well this TV dinner was frozen before I put it in this microwave so maybe this counts as Ice Chips.  Nothing like a tasty salisbury aka cardboard steak smothered in brown ooze with shriveled up green peas, dried up mashed potatoes and an apple cobbler.

Damn I didn't have time to eat that magnificent feast before they brought me into this place.  I guess it didn't count as ice chips as I had hoped.  I'm not sure if I am liking this.  What in the world is that thing?  You mean I actually have to get into this thing?

Oh well I can't stay pregnant forever might as well give this a try.

The Stupid machine is fighting with itself.  WTF is it doing?

Pretty soon I heard my little girl cry for the first time and that was the sweetest sound I ever heard and one that I will never forget.

I think I will call you Erica.  I'll teach you how to become a lovely young woman who will never have to live life in the bin and your father will teach you to dance as that is all he knows how to do.

You would think the hospital would have known to send a pink trimmed bassinet well the blue one will have to do.  I still don't have my castle so I can't be picky on free items.  The house is coming along we now have a roof over our heads, doors, windows and  a second floor.

You think it would be safe for me to make my rounds while Travis was in the house but of course not.  Men!  Scared to change a dirty diaper.

Eventually he figured out what to do and he started to bond with his daughter.

Time flew by and the next thing I knew:

And Erica grew into a child.  I guess its also time for me to get off my butt right now as I'm going to need a bed for her and because this happened.

And I don't have the money to pay the bills.

Author's Note-  I gave our future heir a makeover as soon as she aged up. I like to randomize traits so I used a trait randomizer for Sim 4 online.  She rolled Whiz Kid and Cheerful

Here is a picture of the front exterior of the house.  Not much more has been done and the inside still needs to be finished.
